The Fulfillment Of A Dream?

I'm sure many of you folk do this.

You lie in bed at night, or perhaps stone away the hours watching the scenary drift by on the bus or the MRT, and you fantasize. Nothing sexual, just dreaming of ideals that you wish would happen to you. Just like the wistful lass, wondering where her knight in shining armour is. The newly wed, imagining a household full of kids. The middle management chap dreaming of directorship, and how he'd revamp the company into this super dynamic corporation. The young lad, dreaming of scoring a hat-trick for his debut at his favourite soccer club. The aging professional, dreaming of his retirement, and how he'd lead his life and tie up loose ends once his responsibilities towards his career ceased to exist.

Some of these are fantasies that would never see fruitation, like the soccer fan. Others set the foundation from which dreams are built towards reality.

And each one of these people shape their thoughts and fantasies each time they relive it in their heads. The lass would imagine being in the arms of her dream guy, mentally molding an image of how he would be like, what character he would possess, how he would treat her, and thus arrive at her definition of her ideal dream guy.

Similiarly, the newly wed would plan on the number of kids, what names each kid would have, be it boy or girl. How the house would look like ideally. The manager would have, over time, formed his ideals on how the company should be like under him. And the retiring old geezer would have an idea as to how he would lead his life. And these hopes fester and cling in your mind, along with the ideals that are consequentally generated.

And now, imagine. Just imagine how you would feel when something, or someone comes along, with every indication that whatever it is could be a fulfillment of those ideals. Just imagine the intense jubilation, coupled with the underlying fear that it might not be, and that your hopes are being raised for nothing. Like the girl who meets a guy who appears to be her dream guy...she may be swept off her feet...but would the guy really turn out to be her knight in shining armour?

Imagine...and you'll probably get an inkling of what surges around inside me at this very moment, as I publish this post.

Riding hard, fast, safely AND taking a few corners.
