Bicker

Last day with Ms Cheong Yuen Ling at the Teachers' Network. Last day of the course. I wish
that the course had lasted for a week. 2 days simply seems too short. Got to know more of
the teachers-to-be. Went out with some of them to Liat Towers Starbucks for a quick drink
before rushing Shere home before the downpour started.

Completed the interior for Winnie's bro's Skyline, but botched up the sprayjob for the
chassis...formed bubbles somehow. Used up the remnents of the thinner in the old bottle
and stepped out to the common corridor to respray again. The 1st time I went out my
neighbour started yelling something incomprehensible. I didn't bother about that.

The 2nd time I went out to spray, nothing happened. 5 minutes later, she came out and
confronted me thru my hall window. Dissed at me for not showing initiative, said the fumes
made her dizzy. Gee...as if I deliberately aimed the nozzle at her place when I was
spraying. I even took the effort and risk of dropping the chassis by spraying over the
ledge. If the wind were to carry it back to her apartment there isn't anything I can do,
is there? Moreover, after she dissed my dad for washing the common corridor, I
wasn't about to give her any face.

I asked her to call the police if she had any dissatisfaction, rolled my eyes and walked
back to watch TV. Even my dad couldn't be bothered about her. Gee...I'm surrounded by
eccentric neighbours...help!!

Oh yeah, I promised I'd describe how I beat that R1 so here goes.

I'd just turned out of Capitol carpark into Stamford road and pulled up behind a spanking
new red YZF-R1 2004 model at the traffic light. I noticed MZ had stopped in front and I
knew that he would try to 'play' with the big biker. True enough, once the lights turned
green, he accelerated hard. Expecting him to be put properly in his place, I did nothing
but accelerate at a more relaxed pace than I usually do, only to notice that the R1 wasn't
really stretching its lead from me. At the left bend, the R1 drifted towards the right
lane, presumably so he could have more lean angle. At that point of time, I decided to
try to overtake him, dropped a gear and snatched the racing line from him. I pulled in
front. Surprisingly. In the right bend he was also trailing. As I caught up with MZ, I
noticed the R1's lights flashing blue. Don't know if he was tapping high beam at us or
not. Then he turned into CTE. That concludes yesterday's exploits.

Tomorrow's the day of reckoning....
Riding hard, fast, safely AND taking a few corners.
