Laughing Slumber

I had the most hilarious dream this morning. I dreamt that I was in this huge house with many glass doors like those you see at some shops, the ones with the lock right at the bottom corner of the door.

Somehow, there was this shelf in the house that sold a boxes of 3 toy cars. I bought a set myself and amused myself with it. And then, I heard my younger brother bawling away, saying that he wanted toy cars.

I thought to myself, 'Ok..I'll let him have mine'.

And then, I heard my younger brother screaming (the way kids do when they throw a tantrum) that he wanted 3 sets of toy cars. That was 9 toy cars in total.

I thought to myself, 'Siao'....and decided to ignore him. But he continued screaming until I became so irritated I ran into the house, intending to slap him. My furious mum was there too, and she too was on the warpath to shut my brother up.

But somehow, my younger brother managed to lock all the glass doors and lock the both of us out. Even my dad, who'd stepped out to throw something away, was locked out. My mum ran for one of the many doors, and my younger brother reacted, scurrying from door to door to make sure we couldn't unlock any of them to gain access into the house.

My older brother arrived and managed to unlock one of the doors. Rushing in to give my younger brother a piece of my mind, the utter hilarity of my younger brother's futile efforts at keeping all the doors shut struck me and I collapsed on the ground, laughing my head off.

In fact, I actually woke myself up with my own laughter. As it faded away, I was left with this fuzzy feeling inside of me. The feeling I used to get when my family was still together. Because, in this dream, my family members all acted like they used to behave before all the mess started.

Nostalgia, like the fuzzy feel of the fizz from root beer, bubbling against the roof of your mouth.

A dream. But it was good while it lasted.

A Warning

I was browsing through the SBF when I stumbled on this article.

I think this is pretty serious and could very well be true since it is a personal encounter of a
fellow biker, so I'm copying the article here. Read this, and pass it on to the folk who matter
to you.

Ladies, watch out.
Men, watch out for your ladies.

My female friend encountered this incident in Orchard. That time she was waiting for me at

Orchard Tower. She was approached by a Chinese 30 - 40 yrs old man. I saw the man
talking to her while I am walking toward her. I was puzzled when she suddenly walked off
with the man ....... and even stunned when she walked pass me without looking at me ... but I
am standing in front of her!!
Thinking something amiss, I called her handphone instead. She answered the phone and was

shocked to see herself not waiting at Orchard Tower for me. The man must have saw his
charm being broken, immediately talked to her again ..... This time I told my friend don't listen
to what he said and not to see his eyes.....RUN! She quickly ran off ......

She called me again after 15 mins and met me at Takashimaya. She was shivering all over
when I met her. She told me she really don't know what was going on..... I told her I heard of
this kind of things before, thought it is another Internet poo poo.....but i never expected to see
it myself too ...... Well ....... that day, she took almost half a day to calm herself down.

And coincidentally, Caroline who is my ex-colleague had encountered that same man....... To
share what happened to me last evening, sorry to send to so many, but i am sending this
hoping that nothing unfortunate will happen to my friends.

While waiting for my husband at Tangs side entrance facing Lucky Plaza, suddenly a Chinese
man approached me, disregarding my personal space, stood so close to me that I need to
back off. Then he asked me where was a place, which I din't comprehend. After repeating 2
times or so, he said the place was where they sell chicken rice, duck rice, making some
innocent hand gestures like counting. So I thought he meant food court, told him that he could
go down the flight of stairs next to Mac to basement. He appeared lost and asked me again,
then asked if it was on left hand side or right hand side. I was little irritated as we were facing
the stairs, such a big stairway and he was asking me right or left hand side? Luckily my
husband arrived and a taxi behind him sounded the horn as my hubby waited for me. So I
pointed again to the stairway and asked him to go down.

This morning suddenly awaken with uneasy feeling. Realised that he might be a hypnotiser.
As I remembered that he was loitering near me for some time, but I just took it that he was
another passerby at that moment. He spoke in a deliberate and slow manner, his hand
gestures when mentioning chicken & duck rice, his deliberate attempt in asking me if left or
right

These people try to get us to conjure up images in our mind, that's how they hypnotize us.

Why I thought was a hypnotiser was because my KL friend shared with me 3 months back
that it happened very frequently in KL. Her friend was a victim when she woke up naked, not
remembering what happened. She herself almost fallen prey. Her story was that she was at
busy shopping centre exit, saw a flustered overseas Chinese man speaking very loudly on HP.
Then the man approached her for help, told her that his girlfriend from overseas came to look
for him but was lost, so wanted to borrow money from my friend, the amount was quite a lot
which my friend didn't have.

After talking for a while, he even managed to ask her to follow him. Fortunately her HP rang,

she said she suddenly became more aware of what was happening. Before that, she just
wanted to follow him to help him. Immediately she told the man she didn't have money and
left. So beware of all foreign Chinese man (I really can't decipher his accent, definitely not
Singaporean, very decently dressed, normal guy on the street, maybe late 30s, carrying a
rather big shoulder sling bag).

Mongrel Rapist

Here's trivia for you: How is this guy...

And this dog, related?

Nope, the kid doesn't own the mutt.

Naah...the kid didn't abandon the dawg...

Hmmm...abused the dog? Well, I'll tell you. If you're talking about abuse, you ain't seen nothing yet.

This guy, raped the mutt. And it died of internal bleeding.

I mean...wa lao..talk about desperate. You feel the urge, cannot use hand meh? Must go find, of all things, a dog?!? This is the literal meaning of 'gao gan' sia...

Plus, the dog isn't exactly the prettiest, cutest mutt around...looking at it sure as hell doesn't inspire any sexual thoughts whatsoever.

All I can say is...wa lao.

Return And Fulfillment

It's been eons since I last blogged. I know. I just didn't have the spirit to go on after I met her. I thought I'd gotten over her. And yet, seeing her, seeing her smile, being reminded of the very reason why I fell for her in the first place...sapped my spirit. The look she gave me, that once melted my heart, now sending a lance of hurt and pain, ripping the old, healing wound asunder once again.

And so, in this state of mind, I set of on the 2nd of July to Port Dickson.

Return trip mileage to and fro GP Esso: 723.4km

There's even a video clip at http://www.dinoboy.com.sg/~hweeli/pd050702/pd.mov showing the convoy moving off from Port Dickson Eagle Ranch. I'm the 1st bike to move off.

Overall, it was a no hassles trip which saw me and WQ chasing a Vstrom at 160-180km/h. A minor hiccup in the marking occurred when the convoy broke up so far I thought I missed the last bikes when they were actually much further behind, resulting in Arjen having to breakfast alone at Pagoh.

According to the broucher, the Eagle Ranch we stayed at boasted of a variety of amenities such as Go Karts, an archery range, horseback riding. The management even assured us that the Go Karts were operational and that we did not have to use the Fun Karts, the kid's version of the mini-track fun. But when we approached the mechanics at the Kart shed, we were told, "Rosak". ('spoilt' in malay).

No Go Kart? Nevermind, we thought...maybe we could use the time and money at the archery range instead. We approaced the attendent at the range, who gestured at a bunch of malay kids prancing around the range, saying "Telematch...must wait till 6pm then over".

@##$@%^!@$@#^##^#%@%$!$#!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Go Kart. No archery. What do you want us to do? Horseback riding? After riding over 300km?!? No kidding me. I was so disgusted, I decided to try to get some shut eye. Just as I was falling asleep, the power cut off and the air-conditioning stopped working; I was roused from my slumber when a trickle of sweat ran down my neck, tickling me.

And so, all the features of the ranch didn't work. At least the ones that appealled to me. Ah heck...what can you expect from a place called 'Eagle Ranch' when there are no eagles flying around?

At least their swimming pool and jacuzzi were working...which was the first thing we headed to after the sweltering heat on the road.

But the trip did little for me, other than the wonder of watching a multitude of crabs scurry away from me like ants at the beach whenever I took a step forward.

And then, one week later, I met a group of Phantom Knights for dinner at Commonwealth. In the midst of the makan and laughter, I went to the toilet. Emerging moments later, I was surprised to see everyone making as if to leave. JJBubble called out, "Gia...go home and gear up. Meet at GP Esso in an hour. Backside itchy la...going Bukit Tinggi". (for those of you who don't know, Bukit Tinggi is a mountain further up from Genting)

And before I knew it, I was meeting the other psychos at GP Esso an hour later.

Mileage clocked for this trip was 898km.

During this trip, we clocked an average speed of 110km/h, occasionally hitting 120km/h in order to accomodate the Phantom that travelled with us. The Phantom ran into some problems, leaking engine oil like it was experiencing it's 1st day of the menstrual cycle, making the air filter unworkable and forcing us to stop thrice. The first time, the stop was accompanied with banter and light-hearted jokes, but by the time we stopped over again, I suppose the fatigue had started to sink in, and everyone just wanted to move on as soon as possible.

In spite of all that, we managed to hit the Kuantan Highway by dawn, and riding with the early morning light caressing the slopes around us, a cloud wafting just so slightly above us, refreshed us immensely. We lost our way, and made our way up the wrong mountain, Kampong Bukit Tinggi. But we found the way, and started ascending Bukit Tinggi.

Some of you may know how much I dig taking a fast corner. Taking the bends and twists all the way up and down was strangly thereupathic for me; I found myself grinning like a hyena as I lined myself up for the next set of bends.

The settings at the resort atop Bukit Tinggi was nothing short of beautiful; you could almost forget you're in Malaysia...I had the deja vu feeling of being back in the UK. The combination of the view and the corners lifted my initially heavy heart.

Going up Genting was a lot more of a struggle. The roads were steeper, there was a whole lot more traffic, and the road barriers obscured my view of the apex of each corner. I even had to turn my handlebars to take the bends on the way down as the road was very wet. Still, the feeling of conquering Genting, standing amidst clouds, was exhilerating, as was the feeling I got when I ran into a huge group of Malaysian sport bike riders riding bikes ranging from ZX9R to R1s and R6es, and beat them in the twisties with my 400cc vtwin on the way down the mountain.

I decided to stay at my 2nd Aunt's place before going back to Singapore. And so I headed back to KL. Now, this was a dream come true for me. I've always dreamed of riding down to my 2nd Aunt's place, or Chai Choo's place on my R6, parking outside their house and giving them a call, asking them to look out of their window. I never imagined I'd be able to achieve this so soon.

The final boon was actually getting to meet my cousins. Chai Choo had her phone stolen, and as a result I didn't have her new number. But by God's grace, I managed to contact her and meet ALL my cousins. Well, not all, but I'm satisfied. I'd missed them so much, and actually seeing them gladdened my heart. I don't know if any of them knows just how much they mean to me. Moreover, my brother smsed me telling me he was back in Singapore after 1 1/2 years of study in Australia.

The combination of all the above raised my spirits tremendously, and by the time I made it back to Singapore in the rain, I was in the right state of mind to attend the SIM Orientation the next day. It was the usual icebreaker kind of games galore. And afterwards, I allowed myself to be psychoed to join 3 different camps, 2 of which overlap each other.

I better go prepare and stuff...will be at camp for 5 days...zzz
